Sinai University Participates in the Final Camp for the Gen-Z Program
In the presence of Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Gehan Fekry – President of Sinai University, a team from the Faculty of Engineering – Sinai University – Kantara, participated in the activities of the closing camp for projects participating in the semi-final qualifiers for the Startup Olympiad, qualifying for the Gen-Z TV program, which is held in cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by the Innovators and Support Fund and El Motaheda Media Services Company. The event was hosted at Al-Jalala University.
62 universities and research centers applied for the program, with the number of applicants exceeding 20 thousand, with a total of 2114 teams. 222 teams were promoted from the qualifiers of universities and research centers at the regional level. 129 teams were promoted to the training camp hosted by Al-Jalala University. The camp, which qualifies for the Gen Z program, aims to support the teams and provide the necessary qualifications, guidance, and advices to improve the business models of these teams’ projects, transform their innovative ideas into products that contribute to the local and international market, and prepare them to compete at the International level. The qualified teams will be selected to join the Gen Z TV program at the end of the training camp, in preparation for starting to film the TV episodes under the supervision of ElMotaheda Media Services Company.
Sinai university participated with the idea of a sustainable energy-saving walls project. The participating team consists of Associate Prof. Dr. Mohamed Adel Shabl, Assistant Lecturer Mayar Ibrahim, Eng. Omar Abdullah Salama, Eng. Zainab Hisham, and Eng. Mohamed Khaled Al-Sabbagh. The coordinator of the Innovators and support Fund at the university, Assistant Prof. Dr. Maysa Khalil, also attended the event.
The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Gehan Fekry, focused on the importance of the competition in enhancing the spirit of innovation and training in entrepreneurship, in addition to developing the students’ abilities and capabilities in light of the interest given by the political leadership in continuous support for creative and innovative students of different ages and stimulating their innovation, so that they can participate in solving the problems and challenges facing our community.
