The Misuse of Antibiotics and Bacterial Resistance

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Gehan Fekry, President of Sinai University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ghada Hamed Shaker, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy – Sinai University –Kantara, a workshop was organized in conjunction with the World Antimicrobial Awareness Week, titled: “The Misuse of Antibiotics & Bacterial resistance”.

The workshop was presented by: Prof. Dr. Nora Fahmy Mahmoud, Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Faculty of Pharmacy, Sinai University – Kantara.

The workshop provided a comprehensive explanation of the negative impacts of random antibiotic use on public health and emphasized the importance of adhering to medical guidelines when taking antibiotics. This ensures their effectiveness and reduces the risks associated with their misuse.

This workshop is a positive step towards raising health awareness and encouraging proper practices in antibiotic use, thereby supporting public health and protecting society from the dangers of antibiotic resistance.
