Participation of Students of the Faculty of Information Technology, Kantara Branch, Sinai University in the AI Finance Hackathon

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Gehan Fekry, President of Sinai University, 22 students from the Faculty of Information Technology, Kantara Branch, represented Sinai University in the AI Finance Hackathon, held under the supervision of Google Developer Group Cairo, on Thursday and Friday, February 27-28. The students participated in four teams, producing creative ideas related to the hackathon theme, as follow:

The first team, Intel, consists of students Peter Emile, Ahmed Nady, Moaz Medhat, and Abdullah Mohamed. Their idea is to create a mobile application specializing in personal finance management by transforming raw spending data into actionable insights. The application is designed to demystify financial habits, analyzing purchases through three artificial intelligence-based reports. The application also offers a real-time discount search tool that scans local stores for active promotions and alerts users to current deals, turning late-stage insights into actionable opportunities.

The second team, Fraud Detection, consists of students Zakaria Yahya, Nour Mohamed, Hamza Mohamed, and Abdel Rahman Ibrahim. Their project idea is to create an application that provides a comprehensive service for calculating zakat based on financial assets, including stocks, money, and property. It also allows you to consult scholars directly and provides a list of the best, most trusted places to donate.

The third team, FinTech, consists of students Mohamed Adel Gebaly, Mahmoud Mansour, Mohamed Khaled, Habeeba Mahmoud, and Shahd Ayman. The project idea is based on developing an intelligent system that analyzes the user’s financial behavior and then helps them achieve their purchasing goals after a specific period of time by providing a specific timeline for achieving this goal. This application is also linked to any electronic wallet or bank account to display all financial balances in one place.

The fourth team, AI Squad, consists of students Osama Ahmed, Basmala Mohamed, Reham Mahmoud, Mazen Ahmed, and Kyrillos Ashraf. Their idea is based on developing a project that simplifies financial solutions with innovative features: opening a bank account with one click using the Solana blockchain. Detecting fraud using the Google Maps API and AI analysis of past transactions. Analyzing personal spending habits and providing personalized spending advice. Developing a chatbot to guide smart investment decisions.
