My dear students, I am pleased to welcome you and congratulate you on your joining the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science at Sinai University, Qantara Branch. Your choice to study information technology and computer science was only evidence of your constant awareness of the needs of the labor market and your desire to join those who came before you in this field. As you know, Information technology and computer sciences are among the sciences that are developing very quickly and need to constantly follow up on everything new, which requires us, as the college administration, to constantly update the curricula in line with the labor market. If we are talking about jobs that may disappear in the coming years, then the field of information technology and computer sciences, thank God, are one of the promising fields that need more graduates who have the ability and knowledge to add everything new to develop and modernize such sciences.

From this standpoint, we all seek, as the administration of the College of Information Technology and Computer Science, to maintain constant contact with the labor market to know the ongoing needs of college graduates, and to constantly strive to train students in everything that is modern, and to conclude agreements and partnerships with many training centers and companies that work in the field of information technology and computer science, which It helps graduates find job opportunities in major companies and specialized institutions inside and outside the country.

I promise to always provide you with everything new and advanced in order to ensure that the college graduate will be a new addition to the labor market, which will benefit society and the nation with goodness, with my wishes for all of you progress, success, and excellence, God willing.

About the Faculty

• The College of Information Technology and Computer Science, Sinai University, Qantara Branch, was established by Ministerial Decree No. 4387 dated September 25, 2019.
• The college began its studies in the 2019/2020 academic year, and the first class graduated in the spring of 2023.
• The college received an equivalency certificate from the Supreme Council of Universities for a period of five years from 2023 until the end of the 2027/2028 academic year.
• The college offers its programs in English.
• The college currently has one major, Information Technology, while new majors are being developed.
• A number of agreements have been signed with well-known training organizations and institutions such as the Information Technology Institute (ITI), Creativa, and Huawei to train the students to compete as professionals.

The Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, Sinai University, Kantara Branch, is an accredited college that meets all the quality standards in education, scientific research and community service, and is a pioneer in computer education, research, science, and provides distinguished community services.

 

Faculty Mission

The Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science at Sinai University, Kantara Branch, is committed to preparing distinguished graduates to compete in the local and regional labor market in information technology and computer science. It also contributes to serving the local community, enriches scientific research, and applies quality standards in all its academic and service activities.

 

Strategic Objectives

  1. First Goal: Achieve excellence in education and training in the Information technology education sector.
    1. Develop programs and curricula according to quality standards and market requirements.
    2. Develop teaching, learning, assessment, and training strategies for college programs.
    3. Develop student activities and student support.
    4. Monitor and enhance the capabilities of graduates.
  2. Second Goal: Enhancing the role of the college in serving the community and promoting sustainable development.
    1. Expand college services to serve the community and promote environmental development.
    2. Expand partnerships with civil society sectors and relevant institutions.
  3. Third Goal: Developing the work environment and enhancing the capabilities of the human resources at the college.
    1. Develop the organizational and administrative structure that suits the size and nature of the college’s activities and the services it provides.
    2. Establish effective mechanisms to address the shortage of human resources.
    3. Establish and activate objective performance evaluation standards, and activate accountability and accounting systems.
    4. Increase job satisfaction among faculty members, teaching assistants, and administrative staff.
    5. Develop the capabilities of faculty members, teaching assistants, and administrative staff.
    6. Continuously improve quality management systems at the college.
  4. Fourth Goal: Improving the supporting infrastructure and technology for the college’s teaching and learning processes.
    1. Support the infrastructure and facilities to ensure operational efficiency.
  5. Fifth Goal: Developing the scientific research system at the college to achieve Egypt’s 2030 vision.
    1. Prepare the research plan for the college in light of societal issues and sustainable development plans.
    2. Enhance the capabilities of researchers in the field of information technology.
    3. Develop and activate mechanisms to incentivize researchers.
    4. Publish the college’s scientific journal.
