DEAN’S MESSAGE

My dear students, I am pleased to welcome you to the College of Pharmacy – Sinai University, Kantara Branch, this lofty educational edifice that includes a distinguished elite of faculty members and their assistants who provide science, knowledge, and role models, as well as the insistence of the college and university administration, taking into account meeting the quality requirements in higher education in accordance with national standards and being consistent with harmony with the state’s plan, “Sustainable Development Strategy and Egypt’s Vision 2030”. In terms of how to raise the efficiency of university graduates and achieve sustainable development goals, which are based on a set of core values, the forefront of which is comprehensive quality, commitment to development and modernization, and encouraging scientific research, self-learning and continuing education, in order to create an incubating environment for creativity and innovation to bring about a research, cultural and educational renaissance that is compatible with the standards of ensuring the quality of education.

We are proud at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Sinai University that we all work as one team in order to achieve the vision and mission of the college and its classification locally and internationally, and that the student is our first focus of attention.

The college is also keen to spread health awareness, confront many health problems facing community members, and serve the areas surrounding the university through awareness campaigns about many chronic diseases, medical convoys, and blood donation campaigns carried out by our students.

About the Faculty

The Faculty of Pharmacy – Sinai University – Kantara Branch was established by Decree No. 363 in 2005.
In the academic year 2015/2016, the study of the Bachelor’s program with the credit hour system began at Kantara Branch (Bachelor of Pharmacy – B. Pharm) and the first class graduated in spring 2020.
In 2019, the activation of performance evaluation, quality assurance, and accreditation activities began in line with international developments, based on a decision by the university council to establish a quality assurance unit in (2019).
In the academic year 2019/2020, the new internal regulations for the Bachelor’s stage, which are currently in effect, were implemented. The duration of study is 6 years divided into twelve semesters (Doctor of Pharmacy – PharmD).
In 2019/2020, the Faculty of Pharmacy obtained the equivalence of the Bachelor’s degree for five years (2019-2023).

The Faculty of Pharmacy – Sinai University – Kantara Branch has seven scientific departments, which are as follows:

The Faculty of Pharmacy, Sinai University – Kantara Branch is committed to preparing a distinguished pharmacist in the fields of the labor market and the development of the pharmaceutical industry at the local and regional levels, and preparing a distinguished scientific researcher who contributes effectively to the development of the environment and the maximization of the utilization of its resources to serve the community in order to achieve the requirements of comprehensive quality, preserving professional values and ethics, and traditions of society, and keeping pace with science and new technologies.

First Goal: Achieving excellence in education and training in the pharmaceutical education sector.

Develop programs and curricula according to quality standards and market requirements.
Develop teaching, learning, assessment, and training strategies for college programs.
Develop student activities and student support.

Second Goal: Enhancing the role of the college in serving the community and promoting sustainable development.

Expand college services to serve the community and promote environmental development.
Expand partnerships with civil society sectors and relevant institutions.

Third Goal: Developing the work environment and enhancing the capabilities of the human resources at the college.

Develop the organizational and administrative structure that suits the size and nature of the college’s activities and the services it provides.
Establish effective mechanisms to address the shortage of human resources.
Establish and activate objective performance evaluation standards, and activate accountability and accounting systems.
Increase job satisfaction among faculty members, teaching assistants, and administrative staff.
Develop the capabilities of faculty members, teaching assistants, and administrative staff.
Continuously improve quality management systems at the college.

Fourth Goal: Improving the supporting infrastructure and technology for the college’s teaching and learning processes.

Support the infrastructure and facilities to ensure operational efficiency.

Fifth Goal: Developing the scientific research system at the college to achieve Egypt’s 2030 vision.

Prepare the research plan for the college in light of societal issues and sustainable development plans.
Enhance the capabilities of researchers in the field of pharmacy.
Develop and activate mechanisms to incentivize researchers.
Publish the college’s scientific journal.

Organizational Structure

Undergraduate

– Pharmacy (PharmD)

Our laboratories are equipped with essential tools that facilitate explanation and teaching in an organized environment. We have E-stations in all laboratories, projectors, lab-related devices and instrumentation that allow our students to have hands-on experience with the topic at hand. Our research labs contain 200+ instruments to help and give the ultimate pharmaceutical experience our students can receive.

The fully equipped labs of pharmacy provide a wide range of experiments and experience to our students. Beside affiliation with the major pharmaceutical companies to give our students the real life experience.

Unit Vision

The Quality Assurance Unit at the College of Pharmacy seeks excellence and leadership in the field of comprehensive quality and aims to achieve academic and institutional accreditation in accordance with the vision of the Quality Assurance Center at the University.

Unit Mission

The Quality Assurance Unit is committed to implementing the quality standards approved by the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the educational, research, and community service processes to achieve the mission and objectives of the college.

Unit Objectives

Establish an internal quality system and performance evaluation through:
Developing a clear quality system at the college to enhance the quality of the educational system provided by faculty members and to ensure that graduates reach an excellent level in line with national and international standards.
Establishing reciprocal relationships with quality assurance and accreditation bodies at the regional level, providing the necessary expertise and technical support to these committees in order to obtain accreditation.
Gaining the trust of the community in the outcomes of the educational process at the college by strengthening the relationship between the college and the community to develop and improve the services provided by the college.
Providing various proposals and recommendations related to the implementation of the quality system at the college, conducting studies to achieve the objectives of the unit, and preparing the college for comprehensive performance evaluation for accreditation in the coming years.
Supporting continuous improvement processes by guiding those involved in various development activities in each field to continuously meet quality standards.
Ensuring compliance with the conditions and requirements of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation and preparing the college for accreditation.
